ALLIANCE PAC ENDORSES HAMILTON CHANG FOR LEGISLATURE

The Alliance Political Action Committee has endorsed Hamilton Chang for State Representative in the 17th District.

As the political arm of the Illinois Statewide School Management Alliance, the Alliance PAC provides the opportunity for individuals interested in public education to endorse and contribute to candidates for state offices.  The Alliance PAC is a school management coalition of school board members, superintendents, principals and business officials.

"Hamilton Chang is a strong supporter of public education," said Ron Conner, Chairman of the Alliance PAC.  "The Alliance PAC feels that Hamilton is the candidate in this race who will work the hardest for better schools."

Though a school funding reform bill was enacted in 1997, the measure was not a long-term solution to the statewide school funding problem, according to Conner.  "The question of how best to finance our schools for the long run has not yet been addressed, the 1997 reform package runs out this year," Conner said. "We need public education advocates like Hamilton Chang in the General Assembly to continue to work on comprehensive school funding reform and forward reliable, predictable revenue for public schools," Conner said.  "Hamilton Chang is the candidate we think will fight hardest to guarantee public schools are adequately funded so that every student will receive a quality education."
